Due to the growing interest in natural health and human longevity, the general public is exhibiting an increased awareness in natural and holistic medicine and, in particular, Acupuncture. In fact, many extended health benefit plans now recognize the benefits of acupuncture and cover the costs of treatments provided by qualified practitioners.

The Acupuncture program at Reeves College is a unique 27-month program that consists of courses in acupuncture, tuina massage and western medical sciences. It is a condensed version of the 4-year acupuncture programs offered at Traditional Chinese Medicine universities in China. You will learn about meridians and acupoints. You will also practice various acupuncture techniques including sterilization, needling, manipulation, moxibustion, cupping, magnet therapy and electro-acupuncture. In addition you will learn about the various conditions and diagnosis that acupuncture can be used to treat. Acupuncture case studies are used too improve proficiency in prescribing treatment.

Reeves College's Acupuncture program is designed for students who are completely new to the field of holistic health care as well as health care professionals who wish to broaden their knowledge and increase their clientele. It is also suitable for acupuncturists from other provinces and countries who wish to further their studies and practice in Alberta.

This program is currently only available at Reeves College, Edmonton campus.
