This program prepares creative people by giving them the requisite practical training and technical skills. Students will be taught both traditional and computer graphic design through design and layout, presentation, prepress, color theory, typography and marketing principles. The Adobe Creative Suite consisting of Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat are taught in detail. Students also learn basics of web designing through HTML and Dreamweaver. They build a professional portfolio by the end of the program which showcases their ability to create eye-catching designs in print and web layouts. These designs are mostly used for publications, advertising, corporate branding, websites and packaging.

Career opportunities exist in a wide range of fields for computer graphic designers. Graphic design firms, advertising and marketing agencies employ graduates of this program. The print media like magazines, newspapers, printers and web development companies have positions for them. Planning and event promotions are another source of employment. On successful completion of the course, usually five terms, students will be able to propose creative solutions, evaluate appropriate tools, materials, techniques and concepts required to produce the design solution, create digital graphics and communicate ideas through colorful illustrations using appropriate software. They will also be able to guide clients on appropriate use of media for their projects and manage their projects as per the timeframe requirements of the project. They will be able to produce high resolution graphic documents, assess quality and effectiveness of photographic images, ensure quality of technical and design aspects of a graphic solution and create single or multi-page layouts using appropriate software. Fully functional websites can also be designed by them.
